The 2013 St Davids Cathedral Festival will take place from Friday 24 May - Sunday 2 June.

The St Davids Cathedral Festival has been responsible for bringing classical music to the heart of West Wales for the past 35 years. For ten days annually in May and June (during the Spring Bank Holiday week) the cathedral is host to a feast of classical and contemporary music concerts under the artistic direction of Daniel Cook, the Organist and Master of the Choristers.
The perfect acoustic and stunning architecture of the Nave, including its unique sixteenth century oak ceiling, provide a concert venue unrivalled in Wales. The style of the concerts is extremely varied; in addition to both early and late evening concerts featuring top professionals (soloists, chamber music ensembles, choral, jazz and orchestral groups), there are also a series of afternoon recitals in which young musicians are offered a platform. The festival also has an established educational outreach programme which also gives local school children the opportunity to perform in the festival.
The Festival has a strong reputation for excellence and has made a substantial contribution to the cultural life of West Wales. With appearances from some of the finest musical artists in the UK, the festival has built up a reputation as one of the greatest classical music festivals in Wales.

GARY GRIFFITHS TO REPLACE WYNNE EVANS
Monday 27th May 2013 - 7.00pm
We very much regret that due to an unforeseen contractual clash, Wynne Evans will be unable to perform at the St Davids Cathedral Festival this year. We know that this will be a disappointment to those of you who have already purchased, and those who intended to purchase tickets. Wynne himself was very much looking forward to the concert and hope to appear at a future Festival.
We are however very pleased to announce that the person appearing in his place will be Carmarthenshire born baritone, Gary Griffiths, a singer rapidly making huge strides in the world of opera. After a recent performance as Gugliemo in the current Welsh National Opera production of Cosi fan tutte, Richard Morrison of The Times described him as "a stand out star". This concert will precede Gary's appearance representing Wales in the Cardiff Singer of the World competition, the most prestigious event of its kind.
We hope that you would like to retain your ticket to see for yourself why Gary is considered one of the best singers in the world. However, if you would rather return your ticket, then we will of course offer you a full refund.
Please send your unwanted tickets to the Festival Bookings Secretary, Melanie Northall, at:
September Cottage, Lower Moor, St Davids, Pembrokeshire, SA62 6RP.
If you would like to exchange your ticket, please contact Melanie at festival.bookings@btinternet.com or 01437 721890.
